EEC 1601 Observation and Assessment of Children

This course covers techniques for observing and recording the behavior of young children. Students study the interpretation of authentic assessments as applied to educating the young child from a developmental perspective. Emphasis is on the use of various types of informal measurements along with the appropriate use of standardized assessments. Issues of professionalism including confidentiality, anti-bias, and ethical behaviors are addressed.
