MAT 0028 Introductory Algebra
This developmental math course provides an introduction to integers, algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities, integer exponents, polynomials, polynomial factoring, rational expressions, radical expressions, and graphing. This course must be completed with a grade of “P”. This course does not satisfy mathematical requirements in general education or apply toward a degree.
Prerequisite
A grade of P in
MAT 0056, or MAT 0018 competed with a grade of "C" or higher, or appropriate placement test score. Students who are not required to take the common placement test or enroll in developmental math courses do not have to satisfy prerequisites.
Notes
Exempt students are not required to take a common placement test and are not required to enroll in developmental education instruction. An exempt student is defined as:

Students who entered 9th grade in a Florida public school in the 2003-2004 school year, or any year thereafter, and earned a Florida standard public high school diploma.

A student who is serving as an active duty member of any branch of the United States Armed Services.
