NUR 2403 Family Nursing Care (Transitions)

This course is required for the paramedic and the LPN entering the ADN Transition program. This nursing course emphasizes the didactic content utilized in the contemporary role and scope of practice of the registered nurse while providing family-centered care to diverse obstetric, gynecologic, and pediatric clients. The principles of nursing process, critical thinking and clinical judgment are applied to the course content, which progresses in a simple to complex manner that includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, complications of pregnancy, newborn care, human growth and development, health promotion, pediatric care, selected pediatric, and behavioral health alterations. This course consists of 67.5 theory hours. Additional campus laboratory hours may be required.
