ENL 2022 British Literature: The Late 17th Century through the Modern Era
This course consists of the critical study of selected works of British literature from the late 17th century through the modern era, including such authors as Byron, Wordsworth, Austen, Dickens, Conrad, Lawrence, Larkin and Gordimer. The historical and cultural context of each work will be examined as essential to the understanding and appreciation of the work. Students will be expected to demonstrate competency in writing and research by producing work which is not only grammatically and mechanically correct but which displays effective sentence structure and organization, precise diction, appropriate use of research materials, and proper MLA documentation.
This course satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement. A grade of "C" or higher must be attained. This course is 3 credit hours.
Prerequisite
ENC 1101 (completed with a grade of "C" or higher.)
