Career and Testing Services
Multiple career resources are available on all campuses to assist current and former PHSC students with exploring, planning and obtaining careers. Professional staff are available to assist students with identifying their skills and aptitudes, learning more about a variety of career options and focusing on a career choice. Other services include placing students into business and IT internships, student job shadowing; information about local, in-state and out-of-state job openings via an online job database; resume writing critiques, career research, interviewing techniques, labor market trends, CHOICES (computerized career assistance) and vocational and career assessments.
Career and Testing Services also provides various testing options for students, including the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.), ACCUPLACER, Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), General Assessment of Instructional Needs (GAIN), Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) test, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and proctored distance learning examinations. In addition, the Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (BAT), Nursing Test of Essential Academics Skills (TEAS), Manual Dexterity test, State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE) and other admission, exit or certification examinations are available.
