NUR 1211 Adult Nursing I/Generic Program

This course incorporates the use of the nursing process and previously learned-knowledge focused on humanities, and the social, biological and physical sciences to support integration of holistic care of adult clients experiencing medical-surgical conditions. Critical thinking and clinical judgement skills are utilized to explore and identify evidence-based practice solutions to common health alterations. Learners recognize therapeutic communication skills, nursing interventions and concepts of health promotion and wellness, including prevention, in a variety of nursing and acute-care medical-surgical environments. This course consists of 67.5 theory hours. Additional laboratory hours may be required.
