MUL 1110 Music Appreciation

This course is an introductory music literature course that uses extensive listening to develop an understanding of Western Art Music from antiquity to the music of today. In addition to a survey of the music and composers of each style period, the course will discuss basic elements of music including formal structure, musical instruments, and terminology. This course satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement. A grade of "C" or higher must be attained.

Prerequisite

REA 0017 or REA 0011 or REA 0019 and ENC 0025 or ENC 0021 or ENC 0022 (completed with a grade of "C" or higher for each course) or appropriate placement  test scores. Students who are not required to take the common placement test or enroll in developmental education courses do not have to satisfy prerequisites.
