LIT 2000 Introduction to Literature
This introductory course exposes students to a survey of literature and a range of widely recognized authors and works. Students will examine and interpret a diverse and representative body of works from at least three genres including short stories, poetry, creative non-fiction, plays, and novels. These selections may include works from many periods and cultures within American, British, and World Literature. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of fundamental concepts and ideas in each of the major literary forms. This is a writing credit course with international and intercultural content.
This course is a selection in the Humanities core requirements and satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement. A grade of “C” or higher must be attained.
