EME 2040 Introduction to Technology for Educators

This course is an application of instructional principles for the use of technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom. The course includes hands-on experience with educational media. Identification of appropriate technology for classroom applications, classroom procedures for integrating technologies with emphasis on legal and ethical use, and effective instructional strategies for teachers and students in regard to research, analysis, and use of technology will be covered. Students will be provided an overview of the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices, Florida Standards, the Professional Educator Competencies, and the International Society for Technology Education Standards. 45 class hours.

Prerequisite

REA 0017 or REA 0011 or REA 0019 and ENC 0025 or ENC 0021 or ENC 0022 (completed with a grade of "C" or higher for each course) or appropriate placement test scores. Students who are not required to take the common placement test or enroll in developmental education courses do not have to satisfy prerequisites.
