ATT 1820 Introduction to Air Traffic Control

This course provides students with an introduction to air traffic control (ATC). Topics include the history air traffic control systems, navigation, procedures, ATC clearances and separation of aircraft, airport lighting, markings and signs, controlled, uncontrolled and special use airspace, pilot/controller responsibilities, reduced separation minima, and air traffic procedures by phase of flight. Specialized topics including emergency procedures, intercept procedures, safety of flight, meteorology and aeronautical charts. The course will closely follow the contents of the most current Airman's Information Manual.
