FFP 2741 Fire Service Course Design

This course covers the principles of effective curriculum design. It stresses the principles of adult learning and student-centered learning. Designing courses and units that address learning, performance, and behavioral objectives is the goal. Building on the principles learned in FFP 2740 - Fire Service Course Delivery , adult learning methodology is used to develop curriculum that is tailored for an adult learning environment. Administration of training programs and evaluation of training are also covered in this course. This course is required by the State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training for certification as a fire officer II, fire instructor II and fire instructor III and meets the performance requirement of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Chapter 5 and Chapter 6.
