CTS 2123 Network Security and Intrusion Detection

In the course, students will learn what constitutes a threat, types of attacks, and the vulnerabilities associated. The course will allow students to utilize technologies and tools, providing hands-on experience concerning firewalls, network intrusion, and systems information and event management. The course offers architecture concepts, implementation of secure system design, and Identity and Access Management concepts and controls. The course will dive into risk management, addressing policies, procedures, processes, and concepts. Cryptography concepts, characteristics, and implementation will be covered. The course will prepare students to take the CompTIA Security+ exam.
